KINDY AND PRE-PRIMARY SCREEN
Parents of children in Kindy and Pre-Primary have the option of conducting an OT and speech screening each year at the end of Term 1. The Kindergarten Teacher/ Pre- Primary teachers will provide parents with more information in mid Term 1.
This screen includes:
- Speech sound development and speech clarity
- Fluency of speech (stuttering)
- Word and sentence use
- Comprehension and understanding
- Following multiple instructions and steps
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Spatial awareness
- Core body strength and posture
- Sensory processing issues
A short written report will be provided following the assessment. Private health rebates may apply if you have private health insurance, which covers speech pathology services – please check with your provider if you are unsure.
SOCIAL WORKER
A Social Worker is available every Monday to assist students, teachers, parents and the school community to solve a range of social and emotional problems. Referral to our Social Worker can be directly from parents or teachers in consultation with parents.
